PCTRVL 01-1, Release of PC-TRVL Version 1.08C

This bulletin announces the release of Version 1.08C of PC-TRVL software, which replaces Version 1.08B. This new software was developed to accommodate the provisions of Amendment 95 to the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR).

Amendment 95 revised FTR to increase the mileage allowance (rate per mile) for advantageous use of a privately-owned automobile, motorcycle, or airplane as described below.

Additionally, the rate for use of a privately-owned vehicle instead of a government-furnished vehicle has increased from 23.5 cents to 28.5 cents per mile. These rate changes were effective January 22, 2001.

PC-TRVL Version 1.08C software can be downloaded from NFC's home page via the Internet. Download is the preferred method of providing the new software. However, NFC will continue to supply software on diskettes when specifically requested by the agency.

Downloading PC-TRVL Software

Instructions for downloading PC-TRVL software are provided below.

Note: If you do not have a user ID and password, you must submit Form AD-1128, Request For Electronic Downloading Of Software From NFC, according to the instructions on the form. This form can be printed from the Download Center on NFC's Web site (www.nfc.usda.gov) at the Request a User ID and Password link, completed, and submitted to NFC by either mail or fax.

To download PC-TRVL software:

1. Go to NFC's home page at www.nfc.usda.gov.
   
   
2. Click the NFC Download Center icon at the top of the page.
   
   
3. Click [Downloading PC Software] to review downloading and installation instructions.
   
   
4. Click [Return to the Download Center] and complete the steps provided for downloading the software.

Receiving Software on Diskette

To obtain PC-TRVL software by diskette, submit Form AD-1083, Request For Action For Procedures/Reports, according to the instructions on the form. This form may also be printed from the NFC Web site. At the NFC home page, select the Pubs & Forms icon, then the Pub Order Forms link in the left-hand menu. Select form number AD-1083, then open and print the document.

This bulletin supersedes Bulletin 00-3, Release of PC-TRVL Version 1.08B, issued November 24, 2000. Please discard the superseded bulletin.
