Discovery and Overview
Discovery is where the journey begins! During the Discovery phase, the FMS team partners with the customer Agency to better understand the overall needs. Our team will provide functional and technical leadership as we take a deep “dive” together with our customer into their operational processes. This initiative will involve taking a very detailed look at the customer’s organization structures, lines of business, departments and other organizational components. The team will also review the business drivers with respect to the core financial processes such budget structure, procure to pay, collections and receivables management, general ledger accounting, financial reporting requirements, etc.
The end goal is to develop a Fit-Gap analysis to allow both FMS and our customer to clearly understand the necessary scope for implementation. The scope will include:
- Identification of the core financial modules to be used
- Identification of any optional system modules or services to be used
- Identification of system interface needs
Once the customer agrees to the scope, it is time to move forward. FMS will develop an integrated project plan and schedule based on the customer requirements. The implementation is ready to begin.
