HRPAY 19-15, EPIC Web and EmpowHR Address Change Alert Enhancement

Published: December 20, 2019
Effective: Pay Period 23, 2019 (EPIC Web), TBD (EmpowHR)

Summary

The Web-based Entry, Processing, Inquiry, and Correction system (EPIC Web) has been modified, and EmpowHR is being modified to display a message when an employee changes his or her residence address.

Affected Systems

System

System Impact

EmpowHR

A popup appears when a Human Resources (HR) office processes a change of employee residence address.

EPIC Web

A popup appears when an HR office processes a change of employee residence address.

Implementation

A message has been added to EPIC Web, and a message is being added to EmpowHR to notify users that their address change request will be in the National Finance Center's (NFC) system only. When a residence address is changed in an NFC system, NFC does not notify the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) carriers. Employees will need to contact their carriers to have the address changed in the carriers' systems. NFC does not currently transmit that information automatically. Once the change requests are submitted, the following message will appear:

Your address change will be updated in the National Finance Center Payroll/Personnel system. We are currently working with OPM to allow address changes to flow to the FEHB carrier electronically. Until, this occurs, if you have FEHB, contact the carrier to update your address. If you have BENEFEDS (FEDVIP, FSAFEDS, FLTCIP), contact BENEFEDS directly.

Resources

The procedure manuals for these applications, which are available online at the NFC Web site, are being updated to include the information in this bulletin. To view this procedure, select HR and Payroll Clients from the MyNFC drop-down menu on the NFC Home page. At the HR and Payroll Clients page, select the Publications tab and select the applicable category to access the procedure manual within the category.

Inquiries

For questions about NFC processing, authorized Servicing Personnel Office representatives should contact the NFC Contact Center at 1-855-NFC-4GOV (1-855-632-4468) or via the customer service portal.
