Workforce Analysis:
This report displays a list of the employees in an organization. The fields included on the report are name, social security number, pay plan, occupational series, grade/step, base contract salary, pay basis, individual position number, federal service computation date, tour of duty, veterans preference code, appointment type, pay rate determinant code, comp/excep, and special employment category. To run this report enter the optional Select Criteria and click Go. Note: All select criteria and sorting options are assigned default values as detailed below.
Fields on the report:
- Name - corresponds to the last, first and middle initial of an employee.
- SSNO - Social Security Number.
- Date of Birth - date of birth.
- Pay Plan - Series - Grade/Step - Pay Plan - Occupational Series - Grade/Pay Plan.
- Base Salary - the Scheduled Salary + Geographic Adjustment Rate.
- Pay Basis - Salary Rate.
- Position Description Number - Master Record and Individual Position Number.
- Federal Service Comp Date - Service Comp Date for Civil Service Retirement.
- Tour - Work Schedule.
- Perm or Temp - Type of Appointment.
- P= Permanent Type Appointment codes of (1) Competitive-Career, SES-Career or (2) Competitive-Career-Conditional or (6) Excepted-Permanent, SES-Noncareer or (7) Excepted-Conditional are in this grouping.
- T= Temporary Type Appointment codes of (3) Competetive-Term, TAPER, Indefinite, SES MIlitary Term or Emergency or (4) Competetive-Temporary, Special Need, SES-Time Limited/Career or (8) Excepted-Indefinite, Excepted-Limited (More Than 1 year) or (9) Excepted Temporary, SES-Time limited noncareer are in this grouping.
- Vet - Veterans PPreferenceCode.
- Pay Rate Det - Pay rate Determinant Code.
- Comp or Excp - Position Status Code Competitive Service or the Excepted Service (CSC).
- Spec Emp Cat - Special Employee Code.
Totals, Summary Data, and Notations:
The totals for the selected organization are located after the last page of the report.
- The onboard count, average salary and average GS grade - Excluded from on the board count, average salary and grade calculations are all uncompensated employees, non-employees, employees on extended LWOP and seasonal intermittent employees in non-duty status. Also excluded from the onboard count and average salary calculation are public service career employees who qualify for ceiling exemption.
- Full-Time Permanent Employees - Those employees that have:
- a work schedule of either "F" (Full Time), "G" (Full Time Seasonal), or "H" (Full Time) and
- a type appointment code of either "1" (Competetive Career), or "2" (Competitive Career Conditional), or "6" (Excepted Permanent, SES-Noncareer), or "7" (Excepted Conditional) and
- does not have a nature of action code in the second three positions of "450" (Suspension NTE), or "452" (Suspension-Indefinite), or "460" (LWOP NTE), or "462" (LWP-NTE), or "471" (Furlough), or "472" (Furlough-NTE), or "473" (LWOP-US), or "772" (Ext. of Furlough-NTE) or "773" (Ext of LWOP NTE), or "976" (Preliminary Disability Retirement) and
- has a paid status that is not a "2" (Without Compensation)
- Other Employees - Those employees that:
- do not meet the criteria for a Full-Time Employee (see above) and
- (FOR DOJ) do not have a play plan of either "GW" (Employment under SCH.A213.3102(W) Paid at GS rate), or "YV" (CCareer), or "YW" (Student Aid Sch.A213.3102(W)) or "WW" (Employment under SCH.A213.3102(W) Paid Competetive under Wage), or "ZZ" (Without Compensation) and
- (FOR DOJ) salary rate is not "WC" (Without Compensation) and
- (FOR DOJ) the special employment programs code is not "57" (Federal Junior Fellowship), or "OG", or "SH", or "SI".
Select Criteria:
The selection criteria categories allow you the flexibility to build custom reports by providing you options to indicate data fields and primary sort key. These selection criteria categories are optional.
- Organizational Structure - indicates the level of the organization you wish to select for the report (the default selection is based on your security access).
- Personnel Office Identifier (POI) - indicates the employing or servicing Personnel Office you wish to select for the report (the default selection is based on your security access). This field may also be referred to as the Submitting Office Number (SON).
- Pay Plan - indicates the pay plans you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Occupational Series - indicates the occupational series you wish to include on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Grade - indicates the grade levels you wish the be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Occupation (PATCO) - indicates the occupation types (Professional, Administrative, Technical, Clerical, Other) that you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Supervisory Status - the nature of managerial, supervisory or non-supervisory responsibility assigned to an employee.
- Location - indicates Duty State, City, County locations you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Employment Type (PFT) - indicates the employee status (Permanent Full Time (PFT), Permanent Part Time (PPT), Other) that you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Age - indicates Age groups you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Disability Code - indicates the disability code(s) you wish to include on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Sex - indicates the sex you wish to include on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Race and National Origin - indicates RNO groups you wish to include on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Education Level - indicates the Education Levels you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Tenure Group - indicates the Tenure Group you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Uniform Service Status - indicates the Uniform Service Status codes you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Veteran Status - indicates the Veteran Status you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- SCD Date (Leave) - indicates the Schedule Date (Leave) you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Separation Accession Type - indicates the Separation Accession Type you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Type of Appointment - indicates the Type of Appointment you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Employment Type - indicates the Employment Type you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Special Employee Code - indicates the Special Employee Code(s) you wish to include on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Retirement System - indicates the Retirement System you wish to be included on the report (the default is "All"). Multiple or block selections are allowed.
- Sort Order - this indicator provides you the option to select multiple sort keys for the report, such as (Age, Base Contract Salary, Education Level, Employment Type, Sex, Grade, Disability Code, Location (State), Occupation (PATCO), Occupational Series, Pay Plan, Supervisory Code, Retirement Year, Years of Service). If no sort option is specified, the organization levels are used.
Data Source: The
data source for this report is the National Finance Center's (NFC) Payroll/Personnel
database. The NFC Reporting Center performs a biweekly extract from
the Payroll/Personnel database to populate the Reporting Center data warehouse. The data extract
selects all employees.
